lastminute.com is putting a physical stake behind its AI push, opening a new headquarters in Chiasso, Switzerland, together with an innovation hub.

The company formally opened the headquarters on 7 October 2026 and announced the news on 8 October. The new site includes a Lifestyle Innovation Hub focused on innovation, technology and AI, inaugurated alongside local institutions including the Mayor of Chiasso and the Director of the Economic Division of Canton Ticino.

The Hub

The Hub is co-founded with local partners Dagorà, A++ and Alpha Square. It aims to connect international businesses, local universities, startups and institutions to explore how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping travel, hospitality, media, design and fashion. It is already connecting international and regional organisations and aims to build more links with the region's academic and innovation ecosystem.

The company marks twenty years since choosing Chiasso as its base; the move builds on its long-standing Swiss presence.

Quotes

Alessandro Petazzi, CEO of lastminute.com, said the new headquarters are a long-term investment in how the company works and innovates, describing a more open, flexible space that encourages experimentation. He said the Hub extends that approach to the wider community.

Carlo Terreni, President of Dagorà, said: "Innovation happens when different perspectives come together and have the opportunity to turn ideas into action." He added that Chiasso and Ticino's position between Switzerland and Italy can help connect international innovation with the region.

lastminute.com describes itself as the European leader in Dynamic Holiday Packages and is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange under the ticker LMN.
