Cloudbeds to Link Its PMS With VDA Telkonet Smart Room Systems From Q1 2027

Properties on Cloudbeds will be able to tie their front desk software to in-room automation under a new partnership with VDA Telkonet, though the integration will not be commercially available until the first quarter of 2027.
VDA Telkonet, part of GEWISS Group and a maker of guestroom and energy management systems, announced the deal on November 3 together with Cloudbeds. The integration connects check-in and room-assignment events in the Cloudbeds PMS to VDA Telkonet's in-room systems, so room settings can be triggered without manual coordination between reception and technical staff.
In practice, a check-in could trigger welcome scenes, temperature settings and access management for the assigned room. Door access, encoder hardware and room status updates can be linked back to the PMS, which is meant to cut repetitive front desk tasks. Room climate controls can also adjust based on occupancy status, which targets energy costs.
Sebastien Leitner, Vice President of Partnerships at Cloudbeds, said the partnership lets hoteliers have their chosen technology work together in daily operations. Ferose Ahamed, Global Solution Proposition Manager at VDA Telkonet, pointed to the company's nearly 50 years of experience and its more than one million smart rooms installed worldwide.
The integration is still going through final technical certification. Hoteliers who want early access or technical requirements are directed to their regional VDA Telkonet representative. The announcement gives no pricing.
For independent operators, the value depends on whether they already run or plan to install VDA Telkonet hardware. The partnership adds to Cloudbeds' push to widen its connected ecosystem, following its recent native POS launch.
