Amadeus Adds Embedded Travel Protection to iHotelier Booking Engine

Hotels get a new ancillary revenue line without running an insurance programme themselves.

On 20 October 2026 Amadeus announced that Amadeus Travel Protection, already used by travel sellers and some large airlines, is now available to hotels through its iHotelier Central Reservations System. Hotels can embed protection in the booking experience to build guest confidence and earn ancillary revenue, while the provider manages the service and claims.

Providers

• Sensible Weather offers automated, parametric Weather Guarantees that compensate travelers when qualifying weather affects their stay, with no paperwork or claims. Hotels receive a revenue share per Guarantee sold and reported an average 11% increase in booking conversion and a 2% reduction in cancellations. Guests may receive up to a 100% refund.
• battleface offers embedded travel insurance covering trip cancellation, delays, medical emergencies and lost baggage, plus 24/7 assistance, for eligible travelers in the US, UK, EU, Canada and Mexico.

Hotels can offer several options through a single framework. Peter Altmann, Vice President, Mobility and Travel Protection at Amadeus, said the move brings a proven Amadeus capability into hospitality.
