Booking.com Extends UEFA Deal Through 2029 and Moves Into the Ticket-Purchase Flow

Sponsorship renewals rarely say much about distribution. This one does: alongside the usual signage rights, Booking.com is being placed inside the moment a fan buys a match ticket — the point at which a trip stops being hypothetical.

UEFA announced on 14 September the renewal and expansion of its partnership with Booking.com, which continues as official accommodation and attractions partner.

What the deal covers

The agreement spans five national team competitions:

  • UEFA Nations League Finals 2027
  • European Qualifiers 2027–28
  • UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027
  • UEFA EURO 2028
  • UEFA Women's EURO 2029

That extends a relationship that already covered UEFA EURO 2020 and 2024, and UEFA Women's EURO 2022 and 2025.

The part that isn't signage

Under the renewed terms, Booking.com will be integrated into the fan ticketing journey for the Nations League Finals, EURO and Women's EURO. That includes visibility during the ticket-purchase process itself, plus contributions to the Event Guide given to travelling fans.

Booking.com will also run two digital content-based sponsorship and engagement programmes, and holds a range of partnership rights including on-site and LED visibility.

Why it matters

Event-driven demand is one of the few reliably forecastable compression signals a hotel gets, and the booking window for it is long. Placing an accommodation offer at the ticket-purchase step moves Booking.com upstream of the usual search entry point — ahead of both metasearch and the property's own direct channel — for a traveller whose dates have just been fixed for them.

It also lands on a familiar set of markets. EURO 2028 will be played across nine stadiums in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland; Women's EURO 2029 will be hosted in Germany.

What the two sides said

"We are delighted to renew our partnership with Booking.com, a long-standing partner of UEFA and a global leader in the travel industry," said Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA executive director of marketing. "Building on the success of our collaboration at UEFA EURO 2024 and UEFA Women's EURO 2025, this partnership now expands across a broader range of UEFA national team competitions."

"Through our renewed partnership with UEFA, we're helping fans turn the excitement of an international tournament into memorable travel experiences," said Paul Hennessy, chief marketing officer at Booking.com. "From finding a place to stay and discovering local attractions to planning the wider journey, we want to make it easier for everyone to follow their team and experience more of the destinations hosting these tournaments."

No financial terms were disclosed.
